#ThrowbackThursday – 101 Things About Me (2010 Edition)

The Rantings - For Everyone

Over the years on my blogs, I’ve experimented with a variety of formats and content. Back in 2010, The Rantings of a Tortured Mind not only had these awesome biographies of each of the kids, it also had a “101 Things About Me” page, which was incredibly difficult to make. It’s amazing how little and how much has changed in the last 6 years. Enjoy this blast from the past!

101 Things About Me - The Rantings of a Tortured Mind (2013)

Things That Have Changed…

Much of this list would still be the same today as it was back in 2010. Save for a few things…

#15 – I have a moderate-to-severe heart murmur

Not anymore! About six months after Carter was born, I went for an echocardiogram and the murmur had gone away entirely. To think that we were talking about synthetic valves and then just a few months later, the whole problem goes out the window!

#19 – At one time, I had 12 different blogs. Now narrowed down to 4… It’s a bit of an addiction!

For almost a year now, I have successfully only had 2 blogs – this one and my Tumblr. It’s far less of an addiction now than it ever was before, although I’ll never stop being a blog-a-holic.

#24 – I love playing videogames, my favorite console being the PS3.

I haven’t played a PS3 in a really long time. Because it’s the only console I use now, I have to say my favorite console is the Xbox One. However, the reality is that when it comes to games, you’re more likely to find me playing The Sims 4 on my PC!

#36 – My longest relationship has been 6 years, my shortest 2 years.

The Boyfriend and I are coming up on our 8th anniversary this summer, so now my longest relationship has been 8 years and my shortest has been 2 years.

#61 – I enjoy collecting dead rose petals.

I no longer collect anything. I have an extensive collection of vinyls, but that’s not something I went out of my way to collect. I have not received flowers once in the 8 years that The Boyfriend and I have been together.

#94 – I avoid the stationery section of most stores…

Not anymore! I have successfully walked through that section multiple times in the last couple of years and walked out empty-handed and feeling fine. The kids like to use up and lose all my papers/journals/pens, so I just stopped getting them. Again, no collecting here!

#95 – I take a 4 cream 5 sugar please!

It only took him 6 years, but after much determination and plenty of trial and error, The Boyfriend managed to get me down to a triple triple. We now drink the exact same kind of coffee, although I drink far less now than I did back then. This pregnancy isn’t very fond of coffee either, so I’m down to about one cup a day – sometimes less.

Interesting! 7 things – that’s all that’s changed in about 6 years. It feels like a lot more has happened in that time but I guess the fundamentals will probably always be the same.

The Cane – An Erotic Limerick by Valerie Rayne

The Cane

There was an old man named Yoo
Who crafted canes of bamboo
They made the girls shriek
And weren’t for the meek
And if you’re lucky, you’ll get it too

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There once lived a lady named Jane
Who couldn’t resist the cane
With every hard smack
She rubbed at her crack
And immensely enjoyed the pain
Her lover was gentle yet firm
As her bottom began to burn
She yelped and she cried
It filled him with pride
And then she began to squirm
He hit her hard from behind
She had no places to hide
He had had enough
Was done being tough
And laid down at her side
They wrapped up in each other
And she began to hover
In that mythical place
They call subspace
Protected by her lover
